Another really good one to do that's not too far away is the Mount Leinster Challenge on May 19th.
The long 145km route climbs the three sides of Mount Leinster with the 105km route doing two sides. In between is fairly flat so lots of time to recover.
I did this for the first time last year and was very impressed. Its very well organised and the food stops are better than most sportives out there.
Numbers are limited so you have to enter in advance. No details out yet. I'll put something up here when I find out.
Its another good 70.3 prep day!
5 routes to choose from. Route looks challenging ie some climbing! But they also have a kids cycle(12km) and there is a family ticket too. Lots of food and i think you may get a jersey or t shirt with your entry.
Just thought id share this as I did a shoot with these people today and might appeal to some members.
Its the Great Dublin Bike Ride, Sunday 23rd Sept.
The event will offer a challenging 105km route for experienced riders and a 65km route for beginners or those looking for a slightly less strenuous day in the saddle. Great Dublin Bike Ride is the only cycling event of its kind to happen in Dublin.
There will be two feed stations available for riders as well as medical & mechanical support along the route.
All finishers will receive an exclusive Great Dublin Bike Ride medal, goodie bag, refreshments at food stops along the route and at finish line.
