Hi guys

Now that the longer evenings are back with us again, our much-loved Wednesday bike interval training sessions will be resuming from this Wednesday evening, instead of the indoor turbo sessions.

Meet at the Applegreen service station at Coynes Cross for sign-on at 6:45pm, to be on the road for 7pm. Don’t forget your high-vis gear.

For those who are new to the club, the sessions will focus on bike speed work and will last approx an hour. They’ll be led by coach John Darcy and all levels are welcome to attend.

The first session will be fairly basic to get people used to the format and they’ll gradually get a bit tougher each week.

John is keen to get an idea of numbers, so if you’re planning to attend these sessions, then you can pop up a reply to this post.

Any questions, just let us know.

Finally, a huge thanks to John for running the turbo sessions throughout the winter. As always, the feedback from members was glowing, so thank you John :)

As Ciara has said, the Bike Interval Training is starting on Wednesday, it is only for 3 weeks, so please give them a go. I would particularly encourage those who have not tried them before. Basically you do the intervals in a group of similar speed and ability and only take a turn at the front for 30 secs. The Interval bursts are on a 2.5 km course with 2.5 km recovery.
The more people that take part, the better the groups work.

I'll plan to be there. @John, can you remind me - road or TT bikes? Up and overs so assuming road? Cheers.

Hi John
I’ll be there on Wednesday. Thanks again for the turbo sessions over the winter. Even thought I couldn’t make all of them they were exactly what I needed.
