We received the email below, which may be of interest to some of you ...... especially those of you who like getting finisher medals
Dear Supporter of Wicklow Hospice
My name is Ciarán Byrne and I'm one of the volunteers who helps out with the various running events in aid of Wicklow Hospice. As someone who has supported the hospice in the past and hopefully enjoyed the experience, I invite you to consider joining us in a one day festival of running in Avondale on Saturday 14th April. There is a choice of five distance: 5, 10, 15 and 20 miles or a full marathon. The usual hospice crew are organising it, but on this occasion it is a once-off in aid of Temple Street Children's Hospital. The event is limited to 200 and there is a specially struck Route 66 medal for all finishers. Online entry is via
and costs €25. Entry on the day, provided there are still spaces available, is €30. Online entry closes at midnight on Tuesday 10th April. So if you're tempted to enjoy the usual fun and friendship in Avondale log onto sportszone.ie - it will be one great day of fun while raising funds for a most worthy cause.
